Nvr Enuff Champions of Justice Collection (+ Mary's Amy Rose) swatches and reviews

Greetings, y'all! Polish hauls are always exciting, but I was particularly stoked for this haul to arrive in my mailbox. I'm a sucker for Sailor Moon merchandise. Ah sucker Ah tell ya. Polish is certainly not exempted from that. I should probably add a tag for Sailor Moon since I'm sure I'll have a lot of Sailor Moon nail stuff on this blog. (Update: 'tis done.)

Anyway, Nvr Enuff released their own Sailor Moon inspired collection back in July and I finally managed to buy the entire collection. It is a collection of six polishes inspired by the inner senshi/Sailor Scouts and Tuxedo Mask. It is also more focused on the DiC/Cloverway dubs that owner Lynnae and I grew up with. Along with these, I'll be including the Mary's Monthly for September, a Sonic inspired polish that could easily double as a polish for Sailor Chibi/Mini Moon!

All swatches include glossy top coat and a matte accent nail.

I'll do the Sonic polish first.

Mary's Amy Rose

A"super linear holo bubblegum pink with a hefty dose of both micro and regular gold flakes." One in a series of Sonic themed Mary's, its obvious inspiration is Sonic's ally and self-professed lover of him. It's so lovable! I doubt Miss Mary is aware of Sonic CD but all I can think about is her adorable, original CD era form:
The OG generation of Sonic had the cutest designs

Formula was great. Took two coats to cover. The gold flakies aren't the easiest to spot but when you see them, they're too cute.

Moon Tiara

A "very deep purple holo with a deep purple metallic shine." Whether you know it as Moon Tiara Magic or Moon Tiara Action (or some variant of those), it's Sailor Moon's initial attack in the series.

There was even a special one time attack in the anime called Moon Tiara Stardust that functioned like Moon Healing Escalation!

(BTW, did you know that Moon Tiara Action is the only attack that Sailor Moon uses in each season of the 90s anime? Since she didn't have her tiara during Stars, she improvised with a pizza.)

Two easy coats. Keep in mind that it does dry darker than in the bottle. Loved this one matte.

Aqua Rhapsody

"Aqua holo with a blue metallic shimmer." Most of the polishes from this collection are named from early attacks in the series. This polish's name originates from Sailor Mercury Crystal Power attack. Mercury's one of my favorite senshi and I always loved her water and ice based attacks. Rhapsody is particularly gorgeous with the harp playing.

Two coats is all you need.

Celestial Fire

"Ruby holo with pink iridescent flakes." Inspired by Sailor Mars. Her Star Power attack Burning Mandala is known as Celestial Fire Surround in the first English dub.

Obstinately (that's your word for the day), you can get away with this in one thick coat. The second coat not only covers but deepens the red into a more fall friendly shade. Lovely either way.

Thunder Crash

"Bright green holo with large iridescent flakes and a pink shift." How perfect for Sailor Jupiter! Thunder Crash is the first English dub's name for Supreme Thunder.

This had the sheerest formula in the collection. I did three coats for my swatch.

Crescent Beam

"Golden holo chrome with a pink iridescent shift and holo glitters." Inspired by Sailor Venus's classic attack. (A form of it was also an attack in Codename: Sailor V, a prequel to Sailor Moon.)

Another sheer one, but worth the payoff. The shift gives me rose gold vibes. Three coats.

Roses

"Blackened beauty with a seductive red shift." It's hard to think of Tuxedo Mask without also thinking of a rose zipping through the air. I rarely see polishes themed after Tuxedo Mask in SM collections. Props to Nvr Enuff for thinking of Moon's lover and the honorary Sailor Earth.

(Mamoru/Darien also uses a rose to transform into Tuxedo Mask in an episode.)

My favorite from this collection! If you love vampy shades like OPI Lincoln Park After Dark or Essie Wicked, you'll love this. It's so sexy on the nail. I really want to wear this in the near future. You could easily get this with one thick coat as well, but I still did two coats for consistency.

This collection was worth the wait. Roses is my winner, but the rest are runners up. (Not to mention that Mary's Amy Rose is such a sweet, girly color.)

What is your favorite(s)?
