Top Shelf Lacquer Caribbean Storm Cocktail

Greetings, y'all! Happy hump day! Today I have a polish that I hauled during last month's Polish Pickup, Top Shelf Lacquer Caribbean Storm Cocktail.

Top Shelf Lacquer Caribbean Storm Cocktail

Caribbean Storm Cocktail is described as a "denim blue shimmer with a pink glass fleck and pink to gold to green color shifting flakies." It first appeared during July 2017's Cocktail themed Polish Pickup and is inspired by the cocktail of the same name. It was also Top Shelf Lacquer's first Polish Pickup release. Appropriate, given their liquor theme.

Top Shelf Lacquer Caribbean Storm Cocktail,
I have a weakness for blue polishes, and I also love the idea of blue flakie polishes. The flakies are predominantly pink but I can get them to shift in extreme angles. The added shimmer also gives it a metallic feel. It seems more integrated into the polish than I'm used to with shimmer polishes. Makes for a beautiful effect with the brushstrokes that metallics and foils are prone to.

Formula is great for a flakie polish. Sometimes the flakies are so clumpy that they can be a pain to apply. They distributed just fine here. I did wait a couple extra minutes before laying the second coat. That's all I needed for opacity.

This is my first Top Shelf Lacquer and I'm impressed. Definitely have more on the wishlist. Especially their new neons. I love a good pastel and microglitter!

Top Shelf Lacquer is available here.
